WARRENSBURG, MO (July 8, 2013) – With the planned adoption of the 2012 International Building Codes, the City of Warrensburg’s Building Inspection Division will hold two informational meetings and answer questions about the significant changes from the 2006 to the 2012 Building Codes.
The first session will be held Wednesday, July 10, 2013, from 3:30-4:30 p.m. at the Municipal Center, 102 S. Holden Street. The second session will be held Thursday, July 18, 2013, from 3:30-4:30 p.m. at the Municipal Center.
A Code Review Committee composed of local builders, contractors, an architect, a private home inspector and City staff from the building and fire departments reviewed each of the 2012 codes between April 2012 and February 2013. The committee made recommendations for local changes to the codes. The adoption of the 2012 International family of Building Codes will greatly enhance the City’s ability to maintain or better the Building Division’s ISO rating. The City of Warrensburg adopts the updated building codes every six years.
The new codes will be effective for plans submitted after September 1, 2013.
The meetings are open to the public, and it is only necessary to attend one of the two meetings as the same information will be provided at both.
