Street crews have finished plowing all streets and are applying material to the routes. These operations should be completed this evening. As a result, Phase I of the Emergency Snow Ordinance that began Tuesday, February 4th, in response to the winter weather will expire effective 6:00 pm tonight, February 5th.
Street crews will spend tomorrow making any repairs to equipment and removing sanders from their trucks in preparation for Phase II.
Phase II of the Emergency Snow Ordinance will take effect at 1:00 am on Friday, February 7th, and includes the Central Business District. No parking is allowed on the Emergency Snow Routes listed below:
Holden Street, from Gay to Grover
Pine Street, from Washington to College
Culton Street, from Washington to College
Market Street, from Maynard to College
Hout Street, from Maynard to Holden
Maynard Street, from Hout to Gay
These roads must be free of vehicles so crews can clear them of snow and ice. Vehicles parked along Emergency Snow Routes could be ticketed and towed at the owner’s expense.
In the interest of public safety, please shovel sidewalks for store patrons, residents who must walk rather than drive and individuals with motorized mobility devices. Walking on icy and snowy streets poses a great danger to pedestrians as well as drivers.
The City of Warrensburg extends our thanks to the public for your cooperation in keeping the streets free of parked cars so that street crews can perform the necessary de-icing and plowing in the interest of public safety.
