Director of Human Resources

The City of Warrensburg (population 18,838) is located 45 minutes east of Kansas City, and is a rapidly developing community with tremendous growth potential.  Warrensburg is home to the University of Central Missouri and is located near both Whiteman Air Force Base, home of the B-2 Bomber, and the Lake of the Ozarks.   

We are looking for a professional Director of Human Resources. This position reports directly to the City Manager and is responsible for the administration of personnel policies, benefits, recruitment and maintaining personnel records, and is involved in the training and development process.  This employee should possess excellent organizational skills as well as strong communication and public relation skills.   

Position requires a Bachelor’s degree in business, public administration with major course work in personnel administration or human resource management degree and five (5) years progressive Human Resource Management and Industrial/Employee Relations. PHR, SPHR or IPMA-CP certification preferred. Familiarity with insurance, Worker’s Compensation issues and practices, compensation and benefits management.  Knowledge of municipal government highly desirable but not required.  Excellent leadership, management, and communication skills and abilities.  Ability to complete necessary research and present oral and written reports to City Council and other requests. Excellent work history, attendance record, valid Motor vehicle operator’s license and willingness to use own transportation in the course of performing required duties, or as required.
