April 20, 2017
The Comprehensive City Plan Update was approved at the Planning and Zoning Commission’s meeting held on April 3, 2017 in the Municipal Center at 200 S. Holden Street. The City of Warrensburg’s current Comprehensive City Plan was adopted in 2007. The City hired Confluence, a professional consulting firm focused on planning and landscape architecture, to develop a Comprehensive City Plan Update that will act as a supplement to the existing 2007 Comprehensive City Plan. The Comprehensive City Plan Update will be used in conjunction with other plans and studies as the foundation for decisions on land use, development, and infrastructure investment. It will provide a guide for development over the next 20 years and serve as the basis for updating zoning and subdivision regulations.
The project occurred over a 12-month time period and included public input from key stakeholders, elected officials, and the community at-large. This input, along with quantitative data, was compiled to create the Comprehensive City Plan Update. Major updates to the Comprehensive City Plan Update include the following items:
- Future Land Use Plan
- Land Use Definitions
- Zoning Compatibility Matrix
- Recommendation of Establishing New Zoning Districts
- Recommendations for Clarifications and Additions to Existing Zoning Definitions
- Updated Street Cross-Sections
- Public Transit Recommendations
- Implementation Matrix
The full approved Comprehensive City Plan Update can be found on the City’s website, or a hard copy may be requested through City staff.
